Full Job Description

The House School is a residential setting that specialises in supporting young people ages 5 19 with autism, speech and language disorders, moderate to severe learning difficulties and associated behavioural difficulties. Their aim is to enable them to build self-esteem, become an active part of the community, and achieve their best outcomes.
They provide access to a wide range of facilities, including an onsite farm and adventurous activities such as rock climbing.
Come join them and truly make a difference every day that you come to work.
The Role
As a Support Worker you will provide help and guidance to the young people within the residential areas, school and out in the community. This can mean, teaching life skills, organising and attending day trips and health care appointments, delivering personal care and administering medication.
You will be responsible for safeguarding the residents, and supporting them to achieve maximum levels of independence, have fun, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
If you choose to work nights, you will complete regular checks on the young people and support them should they wake up for any reason. You will also complete all necessary paperwork and deep clean during quiet periods.

They are seeking trustworthy, resilient social care professionals who are understanding of the young peoples needs and can create a fun and engaging environment for them to grow and thrive.
Previous experience of learning disabilities and/or challenging behaviour is desirable, as well as a relevant Level 3 Diploma, although they will provide full training for the right candidate, who can demonstrate a sound value base and a deep desire to be a positive influence in the young people s lives.

The House School and The Group conduct wide ranging recruitment checks to ensure they safeguard those in their care, this includes a criminal background check if an offer is made. In addition, they will conduct online searches and reference checks at an early stage in the recruitment and selection process.
