Full Job Description

Our Building Services team are looking for a Day Shift Multi Skilled Technician M&E to join the team at Derby Hospital.

The purpose of the role will be to provide a day shift cover, to cover all aspects of hospital building maintenance and reactive repairs. To be able to react to any emergency or breakdown within a predetermined time period.

You'll:

  • Provide a contact for staff to attend to all emergencies within the site, within a predetermined response time

  • Respond to any emergency that may occur with the engineering/building equipment and complete the repair to solve problems that may occur from technical issues where possible.

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on plant and equipment, complying with statutory and contract obligations.

  • Analyse and monitor the BMS alarm reports and take necessary action to rectify faults

  • Carry a pager or radio in order to react to emergency/urgent calls from the helpdesk or BMS & Fire alarms

    We're looking for: Knowledge of two or more mechanical/electrical/building skills, acquired through HNC/BTE&G training course plus a recognised apprenticeship in one core skill.

  • Knowledge of engineering/building services within building services maintenance.

  • Electrical 17th Edition Certificate

  • Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and regulations.

  • Basic computer skills are required.
