Full Job Description

The postholder will oversee the running of a 4 bed ward area within the Day Surgery Unit at Danetre Hospital, Daventry, under the leadership of our Consultants and Team/Theatre Lead. You will be caring for patients pre and post operatively., You will be working with a small friendly team of Podiatric Surgery Consultants, Specialist Podiatrists, Team Lead/Theatre Sister, Senior Operating Department Practitioner , Senior Theatre Assistant, HCA's and administration team.

You will be using your training, skills, experience and knowledge to ensure that a high standard of patient care is delivered and safety maintained.

This is a new role so you will need strong leadership qualities. Youwill need to be confident in facilitating change, training staff and supporting students on placements.

The service is open Monday to Friday. The postholder will not be required to work evening or night shifts. However, occasionally surgery lists overrun so a degree of flexibility will be required.

This role would be an ideal opportunity for an experienced band 5 surgical nurse looking for promotion, or someone with experience at band 6 or above looking to reduce hours, or a change of working environment.

The postholder will be based at Danetre Hospital, Daventry, with a requirement to travel to other sites within the Trust for training. The ability to travel independently between these sites is therefore essential.

The postholder will be required to work 18.5 hours per week over 2 days - Tuesday and Thursday with some flexibility required to work longer/shorter days depending on the needs of the service.
