Full Job Description
North Tyneside Council are looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Officer(s) to support children and young people in our care who live within our Children's homes.
The successful applicant(s) will be based at Riverdale Children's home as part of an experienced and established team who deliver care to young people living at the home, helping them access support and allowing them to meet their potential in all areas of their lives, within an environment that both nurtures and respects young people and works in partnership to keep them safe.
Our Childrens homes allow young people within North Tyneside's care to remain connected and close to their family, friends, schools and communities, and maintain and develop relationships with the networks that will support them throughout their lives.
The successful candidate will be experienced in working with young people with complex needs and will be involved in the day to day running of the home, including finances, medication handling and administration, record keeping and report writing, and most importantly, direct work with young people and their families.
They will hold keyworker responsibilities for young people within the home, assisting in formulating, delivering and reviewing plans of care in partnership with young people, their families and other professionals involved, both formally and informally, and assisting young people to be ready to transition into long term care arrangements through direct work, support and guidance.
Preference will be given to applicants with a level 3 qualification in working with children and young people (residential care), but applications are also welcome from people with relevant skills, knowledge and experience who are willing to undertake training to this level.
