Full Job Description

The successful applicant will work 22.2 hours (3 days) Maternity Cover until July 2025.

Monday - Wednesday to support the work of the PE Team in North Tyneside to deliver aspects of the PESSPA SLA.

This will include;

  • To assist with the administration, organisation and communication relating to all North Tyneside events

  • and competitions organised by the PE & Sport Team
  • To support the compilation of a schools audit of sport competition

  • To support the planning and delivery of the annual programme of events, initiatives and competitions e.g. North Tyneside Dance Festivals, Gala's.

  • Assist with the targeted intervention through sport for vulnerable and disadvantaged groups to support raising attainment, attendance and behaviour

  • Assist with the delivery of specific PE intervention programmes

  • Support the implementation of, or deliver leadership, volunteering and transition opportunities and programmes

  • Raise the profile and increase opportunities for young people to participate in physical activities

  • Work towards the CMO objective of allowing young people to access 60 minutes of activity per day and students with SEND 20 minutes per day

  • Work with a range of partners in the delivery of these targets

  • Monitor, review and evaluate, events in the programme in order to consider future planning

  • Maintain the highest standards of delivery and regard for health, safety and well-being at all times

  • Other duties as appropriate in line with the grade of the post.


  • We need the person to have experience of working with young people in a sporting/physical activity based environment. They will have qualifications reflecting this and ideally will have worked in similar settings.

    We aim to ensure that every young person attends a good or better school in which they experience the highest quality teaching and achieve well over time.

    Overall, young people in North Tyneside achieve above the national average in almost all key indicators as a result of a strong and improving school system built on collaboration and innovation. The Education North Tyneside Service actively support and facilitate such partnership working to further improve outcomes and life chances for young people.
