Full Job Description

This is a regional post and the postholder will be employed by North Tyneside Local Authority, the Hub Lead Organisation. The post and the work undertaken by the postholder will be overseen by a line manager within North Tyneside on a day-to-day basis and will be supported by the Music Hub's Strategic Leadership Group and the Hub Board.

The purpose of the role is to collaborate with the strategic Leadership team and the Hub Board to ensure alignment with the Department for Education (DfE) national plan for music and monitor legal compliance by Local Authority (LA) members of the consortium, fulfilling obligations set by Arts Council and North Tyneside Council.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding and knowledge of music education in schools and in the informal sector and an understanding of arts funding systems.

They will have a strong track record in initiating and developing partnerships including brokerage and network building.

It is essential that the postholder is comfortable working with a distributed leadership model. The post will be largely self-sufficient and will require flexibility to work from any location within the Music Hub's geography.

The North East Music Hub is a new consortium of 7 organisations across 8 upper-tier Local Authorities bringing together music opportunities across North and South of the Tyne and Darlington.
