Full Job Description

The Children's Participation Team are looking to recruit casual staff to support the work of the team. The post will be working with vulnerable children and young people who are involved with children's social care, ensuring they are supported to have a voice in decisions regarding their care. The successful employee must have experience of working with children and young people in care of the local authority, care experienced young people, children, and young people with SEND and other vulnerable groups of young people. The aim of the roles will be:

  • To ensure good quality information on services for children and young people
  • To ensure young people who are entitled to it have access to advocacy and complaints procedures.
  • To work with young people in the care of the local authority, and vulnerable children and young people to gather their views and to have a strategic voice.
  • To undertake independent return home conversations with children and young people as and when required.
  • To support the work of the Children's Participation Team in wider work as and when required.
  • You will be required to travel across the authority and possibly wider, and at times past normal office hours and weekends.
