Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Accounts Receivable team as Debt Recovery/Enquiry Officer and help Staffordshire County Council face the issues currently challenging local government. Our Accounts Receivable team provides a range of services with the aim of achieving efficient and effective collection of income and enabling good financial management. If you are experienced in working in an Accounts Receivable environment, then this is the role for you.
Main Responsibilities

The postholder will work closely with other Debt Recovery Officers and our colleagues in Legal Services. You will also assist colleagues in Adult and Children's Financial Services and Social Workers visiting clients to explain the reason for their debts and explain payment processes to them.

Applicants should have at least two years of experience working in a financial function and have a sound knowledge of debt recovery processes and procedures. Having previous experience of debt recovery in person would be an advantage.

Applicants must have good numeric and literacy skills, be effective in their use of spreadsheets and capable of retrieving and manipulating information to produce reports.

The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with customers and with colleagues across disciplines and to work flexibly and creatively to meet changing priorities.
