Full Job Description

You will be working as a Technical Lead in the Decision Engine Team and will be responsible for designing optimal solutions for all Business Rules changes and resolving any technical challenges for the team.,

  • Explore use of new tools and practices to improve Decision Engine capabilities
  • Ensure that all changes have been adequately tested and peer reviewed before release to production
  • Performance reporting, ensuring Blaze is delivering as per the agreed key metrics
  • Take the lead in identifying and delivering transformational activities and technical innovations
  • Be the Decision Engine SME, with a detailed understanding of the technologies and processes used to deliver business rules changes
  • Support direct manager in prioritisation and allocation of team workload and represent direct manager at stakeholder meetings
  • Partner with cross-functional teams in IT, Decision Science, Operations, Strategy and Transformation to build and execute on the development roadmap for Decision Engine
  • Monitor, maintain and improve system performance in partnership with IT
  • Ensure the Decision Engine remains highly performant while delivering complex business rule changes
  • Develop/test/launch business rules change in decision engine at pace to a high standard
  • Maintain and continuously review processes to ensure that we have the necessary controls while building business rules through the Decision Engine

    Experience with FICO Blaze Advisor or other Business Rules Management Systems / Decision Engine platforms and familiarity with MI/BI tools to produce reports on Decision Engine performance.
  • Extensive experience of Object-Oriented Programming methodology and associated development technologies
  • Experience of using source control systems including branching, merging, and resolving conflicts
  • Experience of implementing automated build and testing processes and an understanding of the CI/CD pipeline
  • Demonstrable evidence of developing complex business rule changes using decisioning systems
  • Provide mentoring, support and guidance to other team members with the ability to plan and manage large volumes of work, and effectively communicate progress on work
  • Highly numerate with a proven track record of technical innovation and analytical thinking
  • Strong stakeholder and change management skills
  • Experience of risk and control framework management
