Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a B3 Therapy Support Worker to join the Inpatient Therapy service at Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust. Working with patients in the Acute Inpatient environment, with an aim to prevent further physical decline (deconditioning), the post holder will work alongside the rest of the Therapy Team to deliver a wide range of therapeutic interventions including....,

  • To use the principles of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy in an integrated and client-centred way, to promote independence and facilitate safe discharge. This will be achieved by implementing delegated treatment plans and facilitating rehabilitation within agreed limitations through exercise, physical modalities and the use of occupation.
  • To have a key role in the prevention of deconditioning of patients across our the Acute Inpatient setting. You will also work with other health professionals and healthcare assistants to raise awareness and educate staff, patients and relative about the of importance of promoting independence and prevention of deconditioning during hospital admissions.
  • To work directly with patients to provide interventions such as exercise programmes, practice self-care and other activities of daily living. You will also provide education and support to patients, relatives and other health care staff on the importance of promoting independence and preventing deconditioning during their hospital stay and beyond.
  • To assess and manage delegated patients with mobility and occupational difficulties, reporting back to the registered practitioner as necessary.
  • To support the teams with administration, clerical and housekeeping duties.
