Primary Purpose of the Position

Reporting to the Engineering Services Team Leader, the primary purpose of the role is to provide engineering support to a dedicated range, responding to unplanned and planned process opportunities, independently troubleshooting and continuously improving the process to improve PR (efficiency and quality).

Principle Accountabilities

Ensuring targets and objectives of the associated range are met in line with business requirements. This includes but is not limited to:

-Perform preventive/planned maintenance task & feedback into the CMMS system.
-Responsible for understanding 'the why' when we have mechanical breakdowns and delivering solutions to prevent reoccurrence (zero breakdowns).
-Document abnormalities within the CMMS system and undertake the repair or liaise with the planner to schedule.
-Identify and implement improvements across the range.
-Respond to issues in a timely custom, keeping key stake holders updated regularly.
-Develop and carry out daily inspections as requested related to the range, guarding, air, steam and water leaks and complete repairs as necessary.
-Involvement in daily and weekly reviews DMS/OGSM/MIR.
-Reporting key information in Engineering DMS review.
-Working with PPI and Production department to establish and improve DTM activities.
-Coaching and mentoring of Production Associates through DTM activity.
-Liaise and work with Reliability engineer on key projects associated to the range.
-Review and improvement of PM system linked to range.
-Establish and conduct line audits for key equipment.
-Assist wider engineering team during MPS activities associated with the range (spare parts, lubrication, zero loss etc.).
-Take a lead on shutdown activity related to the range.
-Mechanical 'call out support' for range.
-Any other reasonable duties not listed.

Key Competencies

Essential

-Mechanical Engineer - time served or equivalent and hold the relevant certification associated with this skillset.
-Excellent Mechanical understanding
-Ability to understand technical information
-Ability to use own initiative to make decisions which may impact the business, but can be clearly justified
-Numerate and data rational
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Excellent organisational skills
-Experience in a fast paced and dynamic environment

-Good knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, high/low-pressure steam lines & boilers & print machinery
-Good knowledge of MPS practices (DMS, DTM, PM,5S, FI, CSD)
-Multi skilled - ability to work on electrical systems
-Able to work across different levels of the Business
