Full Job Description

This is a recruitment campaign for Executive Officer positions within Defence Business Services (DBS) Integrated Assurance Team. The Integrated Assurance Team provides assistance and guidance to colleagues and customers on Information Assurance, Information and Records Management, Security and Data Protection. The team aim to provide consistency within policy to harness best practice across the business and are engaged in a wide array of activities to achieve this aim.

Our Disclosures Team deliver a high-quality service to all customers, ensuring compliance with information rights legislation and application of Data Protection (DP) legislation. The successful candidate will manage the delivery of Subject Access Requests in accordance with DP legislation, providing information in response to Data Protection Subject Access Requests and other Information Rights requests for Civilians (MOD employees and non-employees) and UK Veterans and ensuring compliance with Data Protection Legislation across DBS. This role is currently office based. Applicants for this role will be assessed against the working level of GKIM Framework Skill P01 , Carrying out casework on Data Protection (including SARs and complaints) at interview.

To enable the delivery of these services we use a flexible resourcing model to respond to changes in demand to ensure continuity of business critical services to MOD.

Person specification
As an Executive Officer, you will be expected to:

Utilise effective communication for correspondence with customers, colleagues and stakeholders at various grades throughout the business.
Apply established principles, methods and best practice to situations. Analysis and interpretation of material and options may also be applicable in these roles.
Make decisions focused on the day-to-day operation within your areas of responsibility.
Provide detailed, authoritative advice to decision makers, utilising specialist knowledge.
Work independently but subject to senior direction.
Manage staff (where relevant), including performance reporting.
Provide specialist advice and guidance to customers and business areas alike.
Apply and adhere to legislation, ensuring compliance across your area of responsibility.
For the specific post advertised, the following criteria is essential

Minimum of two years' experience in Data protection Information Rights (Disclosures) casework.
Knowledge of Data Protection Legislation.

DBS has recently undertaken a review of its operational locations in the North West, and have consolidated all activities in Norcross, Blackpool. A further move, to the new Government Hub at Talbot Gateway in Blackpool, is scheduled to take place in 2026.
