Full Job Description

The role of the Deferred Payments Assistant is to support the Deferred Payments Officer in proactively maintaining activity to reduce the levels of debt owed to Norfolk County Council. This will include maintaining regular and effective communication with debtors in line with the Council's Debt Recovery Policy.

Ideally you will have recent experience in a finance environment, will be able to deal effectively with customer queries and work closely with service departments to resolve disputes in a timely manner. You will be required to maintain accurate records of debt recovery action and also to collate evidence for cases requiring legal action.

To succeed in this challenging role, you must be a team player with the ability to prioritise your own workload. You must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to work under pressure.

Temporary Contract until 31 st March 2025 | £24,294 to £25,979 per annum (Scale E) | 37 hours per week | County Hall,
