Full Job Description
As a Delivery Manager for Adult Social Care and Health you can make your own powerful contribution to Westminster's success. You'll join our Directorate for Integrated Commissioning Adult Social Care and Public Health, which plays a vital role in developing high quality, diverse care and support services for residents so that wellbeing can be maximised, and people can remain independent and healthier for longer. Our approach to commissioning is based on Human Centred Design, and we're always looking for opportunities to make the resident experience better so we can help people live their best lives.
It'll be your task to provide high quality delivery management for the Directorate across a broad range of projects including strategy development and delivery, service design and commissioning, user research and market management. You'll develop, design and implement Agile frameworks and processes that manage and report on the activities of the Directorate, and support our teams as they meet cross-departmental, corporate and national reporting requirements. We'll also expect you to consult, inform and communicate with key stakeholders on the delivery of design and commissioning activities, and ensure compliance with national and local regulations, processes and procedures.
But your work won't stop there - your additional responsibilities will include managing and tracking project processes, financials and the production of the required deliverables, advising and reporting to Boards and sponsors on the status of activities, and managing delegated budgets, funding and resources. Committed to supporting and promoting the principles of equality and diversity, we'll also expect you to ensure legal, regulatory and policy compliance in the areas of your specialism, and identify any opportunities and risks.
With an Agile and Project Management qualification such as Prince2 or AMP, or relevant experience, you'll have practical knowledge of working in a fast paced legislative or regulatory environment, and be capable of supporting robust and evidence-based strategic solutions. You should also be ready to scope and plan projects that deliver ambitious and cross-cutting outcomes, and have the ability to use innovation and creativity to promote a strategic outlook that produces a positive impact on strategy development.
Skilled at delivering and role modelling good project management practice, you'll be capable of working effectively with a range of partners to keep track of complex delivery programmes. In addition, your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will allow you to support the leadership of our project teams and work collaboratively with a diverse range of other stakeholders.
A superb negotiator and influencer with the skills to set priorities and manage complex and challenging conversations, you'll be capable of identifying and managing risk. Empathetic, focused and committed to making a positive difference, we'll also expect you to be able to use IT solutions to record and share the status and details of the projects you're working on.
THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF INDEPENDENT LIVES
Adult Social Care in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories, where our passionate, caring and committed professionals do brilliant work every day.
Mrs D was frail and unwell. Her son was her main carer, but he wasn't coping. We stepped in to help, but they were hostile to outside agencies. They'd always lived together and were terrified they'd be split up. Our social worker did a great job persuading Mrs D to get hospital treatment and a temporary stay in a care home.
In an epic effort throughout COVID, she gained the son's trust and sorted all the repairs, carers and nurses needed so that Mrs D could come home to live with her son. We also got Mr D regular respite and a personal budget awarded in recognition of him as her carer. After all, there's nothing more important than living the life you want., Westminster is an amazing place. We are home to more than 200,000 residents from all backgrounds, over 50,000 vibrant and vital businesses and three-quarters-of-a-million people work in Westminster.
Westminster City Council's strategy is to work towards a Fairer Westminster. A Fairer Westminster is one in which our communities are at the heart of our decision-making and help to determine the city's future. By working directly with our communities and other partners, we can build a more inclusive city that celebrates our diverse communities, and where residents, workers and visitors from all backgrounds will feel welcome and safe.
At Westminster City Council, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive workplace and employer of choice. We encourage and welcome applications from people from all backgrounds and aim to have a workforce that, at all levels, represents the communities we serve. We champion equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing and aim to create a workplace where everyone feels valued, has a sense of belonging and is empowered to be their best, that is the Westminster Way.
