Full Job Description

The post holder is required to liaise, work collaboratively, support good practice / learning, and develop good working relationships with key stakeholders across a range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels in support of delivering the programme objectives. Key relationships include: Managerial, technical, clinical and administrative user groups within the Trust Staff working in other NHS or associated system or clinical service provider IT system suppliers and NPIC Partners Programme leads, project managers, technical leads and other NPIC team members as necessary The post holder will utilise their in-depth knowledge and experience of delivering IM&T and/or clinical systems to manage a wide range of digital deployments ensuring that the deliverables are produced to the required quality, within a specified time frame, within budget and that the project organisation is consistent with the complexity of the project. Monitor, control and support solution deployment;
ensuring process, project plans, methodologies and procedures are in place and followed. Because of the nature of their work, the post holder must be able to plan and organise a number of complex activities or programmes, which require the formulation and adjustment of plans. Prepare realistic and achievable plans to implement new systems, support policy and service development implementation and transformational change, and continually monitor progress. To use specialist knowledge to ensure that deployments are carried out effectively, efficiently and in compliance with Trust Policies, Procedures, good practice guidance and in line with national service standards and policy direction and in accordance with digital delivery and project management best practice. This includes specialist techniques to analyse and document current working practices. To develop, maintain and monitor plans for projects, tailoring the plans in accordance with the complexity of the project. This includes the
management of a substantial delivery budget during the course of the project. This will vary by project. To manage complex projects that have an impact throughout an organisation. Proven ability to drive projects and initiatives from conception through implementation while improving processes and best practices. Manage the performance of external suppliers and their delivery of the agreed contract. Monitor substantial project/programme budgets and performance related IT delivery contracts To develop appropriate communication plans and communicate at all levels within the organisation with both IM&T and non-IM&T staff at a high level of complexity on subjects within their area of responsibility. This includes liaison with the test and release, incident and clinical management teams. To diagnose complex deployment problems by analysing information and data in order to recommend a solution. To document the lessons learned from the deployments and communicate these to a wide range
of staff (internal and external) either by presentation or formal report. This includes the facilitation and contribution of post deployment reviews. To use specialist techniques to contribute to appropriate changes in working practice, in order to delivery measurable benefits of the new digital solution. To manage the performance of the assigned project managers and ensure their personal & professional development needs are addressed. Other duties as commensurate with the grade and role as agreed with line manager.
