Full Job Description
We are seeking 2 highly motivated Dementia Support Worker/Drivers to work within a team to provide support to people with dementia in a day care setting and in the community.
You will deliver a range of support including driving and escorting people on transport to and from day centre or activity locations, delivering activities, assisting with personal care needs including meals and refreshments, sitting/befriending service. You will meet the personal care needs of service users in a way that respects dignity of the individual and promotes independence, also offering support to carers. You will maintain the physical environment of the centre and assist with general day to day activities in a way that meets the needs and interests of service users. You will be expected to demonstrate an understanding and awareness of ACTS policies and procedures, ensuring that they are always maintained.
A driving licence and your own vehicle is essential as we care for people in the community and in their own homes. Driving of ACTS minibus will be included and relevant training provided if required.
Age Concern Tyneside South (ACTS) is a Registered Charity which promotes the well-being of all older people and Carers living in South Tyneside, improving their quality of life and helping them maintain their independence. We are also responsible for the delivery of a CQC registered Dementia Day Service for South Tyneside, which aims to provide people with dementia, and their carers, the best possible support at home, in the community and within a Day Service Centre, 7 days a week.
