Full Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a committed and highly motivated individual to support the Legal and Democratic Services Team.

This is an opportunity to join a team that provides administrative support for a wide range of services and provision of essential statutory services, including assisting with production of Agenda's, Collation of Committee Reports and the preparation of Minutes. The role includes attendance at some Council Meetings and other Committees which are held in the evening, so the ability to take accurate minutes whilst at such meetings is essential to the role.

This post will also provide a range of administrative support for the Land Charges function. This will include maintaining manual and computerised records, word processing and ensuring the correct and accurate processing of land charge documents.

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, an eye for detail and the ability to manage their workload in an organised and efficient manner to meet the fluctuating deadlines and demands of a busy working environment. You will have a positive attitude and be able to work using your own initiative as well working with all members of the Legal and Democratic Services Team. Along with relevant administrative experience, you should also be competent with using computer systems and meeting deadlines.

Training on processes and procedures will be provided but your ability to adapt and learn quickly will be essential.

This is a home working contract, and the majority of duties will be carried out at home, however, employees will be contractually required to attend site on two days per month for team meetings, 121 meetings, etc. Employees may also be required to attend a site for meetings, collaborative work or to undertake work related activities. Site attendance will constitute no more than 40% of working time and includes the contractual 2 days per month., Tamworth Borough Council is proud to be an Equal Opportunities Employer.
