Full Job Description

To work as one of a discrete group of advanced, registered, dental nurse practitioners within the specialties of Oral Surgery, Maxillo-Facial and Orthodontics in the provision of the highest standard of nursing care for children, young people, adults and those with special needs.

To work on own initiative with manager available for reference if required.

To assist specialist dental practitioners in the treatment of patients, including those with complex medical histories and learning difficulties.

Prepare and organise clinical areas for treatment for example theatres, orthodontics, implant clinics and specialist restorative clinics selecting and assembling appropriate equipment and materials.

Responsible for preparing the patient for dental treatment and assisting in the care and supervision of the patient until they are fit to leave the department.

Provide post-operative advice and instruction for patients following Orthodontics, general anaesthetics and maxilla-facial treatments.

To act as a role model by excellent and exemplary professional behaviour at all times working within the General Dental Council Code of Professional Conduct.

Full time - 37.5 hours per week (4 x Monday to Friday 08:00-18:00 hours)
