Full Job Description
The post holder must be able to;
- Report departmental issues to clinic manager
- Attend regular staff meetings to review standards of practice and ensure dissemination of information
- Develop good communications and fair and clear relationships with staff cross the multi-disciplinary team.
- Communicate with all grades of staff regarding patient care. In so doing they are expected to provide and receive complex or sensitive information relating to planned or received treatment.
- Liaise between clinician, technician, patient and external agencies to arrange appropriate appointments.
- Effectively communicate with patients and their relatives. This frequently involves having to deliver information in a way that is easily understood by the person receiving that information e.g. when delivering pre and postoperative instructions and advice. This is essential where there are barriers to communication.
We are seeking to recruit a full-time motivated and enthusiastic Dental Nurses who hold the British National Examining Board for Dental Surgery Assistants' Certificate / EBDN / NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Dental Nursing. This is a multidisciplinary department which requires a dental nurse to work within the three specialties Oral Maxillofacial, Orthodontic and Restorative . This will involve maxillofacial, orthodontic and restorative clinics which run alongside minor oral surgery sessions & emergency clinics. X ray facilities are located within the department. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be reliable, highly motivated using their own initiative and work well within a team. They will need to have a supportive, caring attitude and be committed to providing the highest level of care to our patients.
