An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Dental Nurse to join our specialist team within the Maxillofacial & Orthodontic department.
This is a full time/part time considered post, working across both sites.
We are looking for a highly motivated flexible person who can demonstrate a dedication to quality care and provide high standards of nursing.
Applicants should hold, Our department of RDN's provide care and support to patients undergoing Maxillofacial/Oral and Orthodontic procedures in a busy Outpatient setting.

+ Support Senior Dental Nurses
+ Provide specialist nursing care to all patients attending the Maxillofacial & Orthodontic Department
To prepare, organise and maintain high standards of patient care in the clinical environment in collaboration with the clinical team., + To provide specialist nursing care to patients undergoing Orthodontic treatment, knowledge of fixed and removable appliances required.
+ To provide specialist nursing care to Oral and Maxilllofacial Surgery patients requiring surgery and trauma patients referred from A & E and Walk in Centres.
+ Provide nursing care for all patients attending new and review clinics, working closely with the clinical team.
+ Advice to patients post procedure and prior to their discharge from clinic.
+ Undertake care and supervision for patients with medically compromised conditions and physical needs.
+ To be responsible for the preparation of all clinical areas. Preparation is essential for the effective running of treatment clinics; ensures continuous patient care during the patient episode.
+ To ensure all surgical/orthodontic instruments are correctly sent for decontamination, complying with local traceable sterilisation procedures.
+ To undertake the care, maintenance and cleaning of equipment in the clinical areas in line with the Trust's infection control policy.
+ To nurse effectively and safety during procedures maintaining the personal protective equipment policy.
Communication
+ Be an active member of the departmental team to facilitate effective running of clinics.
+ Liaise with other staff and disciplines.
+ Respect confidentiality of all information pertaining to the patients and their families.
+ Promote good communication and interpersonal relationships.
+ Participate in the promotion and maintenance of effective communication with the patients and carers.
General responsibilities/Other Duties
+ Ensure safe storage and administration of medicines, in accordance with the Trust policy and practice.
+ Report and record any incidents and complaints according to trust policy.
+ Check that clinic notes are readily available with all relevant documentation.

A Certificate in Dental Nursing (NEBDN). GDC Registration and some experience of surgical extractions or Orthodontics., + Demonstrates experience in maintaining personal and professional development to keep knowledge and skills up to date.
+ Be willing to undertake any necessary training.
