Full Job Description

The successful applicant will be an important part of a Multidisciplinary team and will provide comprehensive secretarial /administrative and clerical support to North Wales Community Service. Provide a secretarial / receptionist service to the dental team, including the dental general team and being first point of contact for visitors and patients to the service. This can involve dealing with sensitive and potentially difficult/stressful situations in a calm and sensitive manner.,

  • Assisting with arrangements of dental clinics and providing patients with appropriate appointments.
  • Assist with arranging specialist clinics i.e. general anaesthesia and sedation, organising waiting lists, appointments, recalls and associated clinical records. Liaising with clinical staff as necessary.
  • Maintaining the Dental Clinic Appointments Diary/recall system and appointments system.
  • Deals with enquires from patients, general dental practitioners, general practitioners, hospital medical and nursing staff, local health boards, schools, nursing homes and parents/guardians within own competence or refers to appropriate community dental staff.
  • Responds to messages left on the answer phone. Refers messages and appointment cancellations to appropriate Community Dental Clinic.

  • Previous experience in a secretary/receptionist role, Previous experience with WPAS/Welsh Clinical Portal, Able to demonstrate English and Mathematical skills
  • RSA stage 2 or equivalent NVQ 3 in Administration/Information Technology
  • Desirable criteria
  • NVQ II Admin/customer care.
  • Skills Essential criteria
  • Welsh essential level 3
