Full Job Description

To assist the business accountant in providing a comprehensive range of financial management support to a number of budget holders, including accurate financial position and forecast, with variances understoodand explained.

The post holder will provide high quality, accurate and meaningful reports portraying all key messages and accurate and timely financial information provided to support decision making.

To ensure optimum use of available resources. Robust budgets set to meet trust and division plans. Robust costings provided which ensure costs sufficient to meet service delivery requirements, all aspects considered, and risks mitigated. The post holder will produce robust quality impact assessed CIP plans and to ensure that CIP plans and transformational change programmes delivered.

The post holder will ensure a productive and positive working relationship with customers and a customer focused financial management service., To contribute to the budget setting process annually for the dedicated areas of responsibility, within the budget setting timetable.

To work with and advise budget holders in identifying areas of efficiencies and monitoring and reporting on the performance against CIP targets.

To be responsible for providing routine financial information that is relevant, accurate and within agreed timetables to enable performance monitoring by directors and budget holders.

To contribute to the monthly financial analysis provision within the reporting timetables to facilitate the production of the financial board papers.

To assist in interpreting financial information, providing forecasts, comparisons and questioning budget holders to ensure budgets are used efficiently and effectively.

To develop financial awareness of non-financial managers and provide support and training both to individuals and groups.

To agree internal SLA drivers with budget holders and ensure that mechanisms are in place to implement this initiative.

To introduce, review and update systems for managing the financial practices within the Division in line with Trust policy.

To contribute to the strategy by advising on financial performance supporting the development of existing and future services including ensuring all service developments are accurately costed usingthe trusts costing methodology and affordable before implementation.
