We believe in continuous improvement and are committed to enhancing patient experiences and outcomes., We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Cancer Programme Manager to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you;ll be responsible for the operational delivery, performance management, and business oversight of our Cancer Services Admin Team. You'll play a critical role in ensuring that our services meet high standards and contribute to the development of long-term strategies aimed at transformational change., The Deputy Cancer Programme Manager is responsible for ensuring the operational delivery, performance, and management of Cancer Services, aiming to provide high-quality and efficient patient care. Key duties include :

  • Supporting performance targets, developing service plans, and ensuring continuous service improvements. Responsible for managing the implementation of policies, national cancer guidelines, and long-term strategic plans.
  • Leading transformation efforts, collaborating with clinicians and managers to meet cancer targets, and fostering teamwork to improve services. They will also work on staff management, including recruitment, performance reviews, and training.
  • Monitoring cancer waiting times, managing performance data, and ensuring the achievement of cancer-related targets. They will work closely with teams to improve efficiency and ensure accurate data reporting.
  • Managing the cancer services admin budget, developing business cases, contributing to financial planning, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Overseeing data collection for cancer audits, using software for performance reports, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of cancer-related data.
  • Line managing the Cancer Services Admin Team, ensuring effective recruitment, attendance, and performance management.
  • Building effective working relationships across teams, communicating complex information clearly, and ensuring that staff are aligned with NHS cancer policies.

  • Proven experience in operational management, ideally within cancer services or a related healthcare setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities to build effective working relationships.
  • The ability to develop and implement strategic plans for service improvement.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification or experienceEvidence of continued professional developmentRecognised management qualification at postgraduate level and / or experience
