Full Job Description

Sodexo has a great opportunity for an experienced Deputy Catering Manager to join our established team working with our clients based in High Wycombe.

Joining our team at their corporate office, you will supervise and direct large catering team, including the daily allocation of duties/general direction and checking of work progress and performance throughout the day ensuring all catering services delivering required company's standards, within the agreed specification and to the agreed performance, quality and financial targets and take responsibility for the unit in the absence of the line manager.

The Deputy Catering Manager will ensure the prompt provision and efficient service of all meals and catering requirements at the specified time to the standards laid down in the Key Performance Indicators, ensuring that methods of preparation, production and presentation comply with Sodexo's standards and procedures whilst ensuring the standards across the site are in accordance with the Service Level Agreements and KPI's specified in the service contract.

You will ensure that all equipment used, is in safe working order, checked regularly and serviced, reporting any faults to the management/client and be responsible for an efficient and effective day to day running of the catering units and monitor and track all service stages along with the production performance of individuals and quality control of each stage to maximise profitable sales by the introduction and maintenance of food service brands to the standard required by the Company.

Initiating a process of continuous improvement by undertaking company promotions and extraordinary merchandising initiatives to ensure the profitable growth of the contract, you will promote Food Safety and Health and Safety within the team and raise awareness amongst all the staff of appropriate HACCP, Food Safety, Health and Safety regulations including PPE, COSHH, SSW and Risk Assessments.

Managing all financial sides of the unit, including closing books, stock management, ordering, managing the software, payroll, tills as well as Food safety and Health & Safety in all outlets, you will maintain consistency and accuracy in delivering all services whilst monitoring staff performance and morale on daily basis and training on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

This is an important role within the Sodexo organisation. The role is focused on delivering world class integrated FM with oversight from Sodexo management. The business needs will vary in line with contract requirements and there is an expectation that you will provide support as necessary within your abilities and capabilities.

Experience and knowledge requirement for this role:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, working in a busy, fast changing and demanding environment

  • Proven experience in managing and leading a catering team

  • People person who would work well with employees on all levels.

  • Provide calm, secure, friendly and supportive presence, being in control of all aspects of the catering business

  • Operate within Company procedures, Legislation and Client Policies.

  • Represent company with a positive, approachable, friendly and professional manner

  • Industry acumen and knowledge of external catering developments & innovations
