Full Job Description

The ultimate aim of our Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse post is to provide the Department's nursing teams with visible, supportive and confident leadership. The post-holder will liaise with the multidisciplinary team and enable a smooth transition of service. You will also directly line manage a small group of nurses and be responsible for appraisals and the development of your team., In return we will offer you the opportunity to enhance your leadership skills and give our commitment to your professional development with coaching, clinical supervision and role modelling from existing senior nurses. We would like to enable you to grow into a future NHS Leader.

Reporting to the Sister/Charge Nurse, this interesting role will demand your finest leadership and organisational skills and you will have the enthusiasm and energy to help take the services forward in delivering the highest possible standards of care and patient experience. This will encompass clinical audit, risk management and driving continuous quality improvement. Supporting and developing junior staff and mentoring student nurses and associate practitioners in the area will add to your high level of job satisfaction.
