Full Job Description

Deputise for the Chief Pharmacist. Provide strategic oversight of the pharmacy eHospital and informatics programme. Lead and direct pharmacy services in relation to medicines finance, procurement and commissioning to ensure safety, compliance and value for money. Coordinate and develop medicines optimisation plans in collaboration with ICBs and NHS England and ensure representation on relevant governance, commissioning and prescribing forums. Coordinate with key trust stakeholders to oversee the managed introduction of new medicines and annual business plans. Oversee pharmacy support to the Joint Drugs and Therapeutics Committee leading the agenda and work plan. To be an active member of the pharmacy Senior Management Team providing an essential role with responsibility for specialist services. Liaise with the relevant senior pharmacy, medical and nursing staff so as to promote safe, effective use of medicines. Be the named RP on the WDA (if required) ensuring regulatory compliance. Oversee delivery of the Medicines Optimisation cost improvement programme.
