Full Job Description

o Take responsibility for leading the strategic and operational management of one of the core pharmacy services. Including full responsibility for the leadership and management of staff in this service and financial oversight/accountability.o Deputise for the Chief Pharmacist and take corporate responsibility for the pharmacy service aligning the pharmacy vision with the RM strategy and leading the team to focus on key prioritieso To act as the initial point of contact for staff in response to issues concerning pharmacy and wider medicine management issues. Works with and through others on resolutionso To provide advice on highly complex matters pertaining to the use of medicines, to the Executive Team and wider teams as necessary gaining agreement and co-operation. Uses specialist pharmaceutical knowledge and experience to make recommendations.o Within the service for which they are responsible to act as lead for clinical governance and risk management.o With the Chief Pharmacist drive
the design and delivery of the vision and strategic priorities for the pharmacy service, ensuring alignment with the overall Trusts plans.o Operationalise the strategic vision of the future, encompassing trends in Pharmacy, technology, funding and workforce.

The pharmacy department comprises a team of over 200 staff working across our 2 sites in Chelsea and Sutton.

The deputy chief pharmacist will support the chief pharmacist in the leadership and management of the service, while having an operational management role for one of the core pharmacy services., The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is a world-leading cancer centre.
