Full Job Description
The Deputy Clinical Chair is required to provide leadership for the Division and ensure effective management and support for staff. It is also required to provide advice to the Divisional Clinical Chair and Executive Medical Director on matters of clinical policy and practice, staffing, education and training. There is a requirement to work in partnership with other Heads of Service, to provide accountability for the quality and performance of the services.
In undertaking the duties of this post you must comply with the Department of Health Code of Conduct for NHS Managers.
To provide leadership to all staff within the Division - this will be achieved through effective governance arrangements in each of the services, providing visible and authentic leadership across the Division, with particular focus on supporting Heads of Service and clinical leaders to develop their skills and services.
To support the Clinical Chair in ensuring effective arrangements for patient safety are in place across the Division.
The Deputy Clinical Chair will receive supervision and support from the Clinical Chair and the Divisional Management team. The Clinical Chair will undertake an annual review of the job plan/duties for the Deputy Clinical Chair.
The Deputy Clinical Chair will have on going training/development to support them with the role and it is expected that they will have a development plan linked to the role.
Administrative support will be agreed and provided.
