Full Job Description
The Deputy Directors are part of the wider leadership team within the General Counsel functions alongside the GC, Directors and the leadership team, with the responsibility for all legal leadership in their teams' areas as well providing individual advice to senior internal clients across the Directorates. They will be part of a large team of approximately 25 legal professionals to deliver high quality legal services to enable Ofgem to achieve its priorities and to inspire and motivate to enable delivery of Ofgem's Multi Year Strategy. The Deputy Directors will provide advice on legal risk and mitigation. within their areas, building relationships across Ofgem being accountable for the delivery of high quality legal and governance services., You will then be asked to provide a 1250 word 'personal statement' evidencing how you meet the essential and desirable skills and capabilities listed in the role profile. A legal expert in energy, regulation or public law -extensive senior-level legal experience as a qualified solicitor or barrister, gained across the public and/or private sectors Legal Leadership - extensive experience of leading large legal teams and collective leadership of a legal function. A leader who is visible and approachable, welcomes feedback and is keen to continuously improve to maintain a high standard of legal services. A senior advisor - experience of working collaboratively with senior officials and making a positive impact both internally and externally, adopting an open approach and unafraid to make decisions when necessary. A strong communicator - highly credible communication skills, both in writing and in person. Can absorb a wide range of data and clearly communicates complex legal issues and innovative solutions and can also lead teams through change with confidence. Commercially minded - professional knowledge and experience that evidences an understanding of regulation and consumer priorities within a commercial and/or public body.
