Full Job Description
Finegreen are currently supporting a large NHS Trust in the Midlands, they are looking to appoint an interim Deputy Director of Estates and Capital Planning. The role is the most senior appointment within the Estates, Facilities and Capital Planning Directorate for the Trust. Brief Overview:
- Lead specialist for Estates and Capital and will be responsible for developing and delivery of the Trust's Estate and Capital Strategy, developing policies and procedures as appropriate;
- Expected to regularly communicate highly complex information and often multi-faceted information relating to estates, capital and maintenance with Modern Matrons, Ward Managers, Heads of Departments, Medical and Nursing staff, Department of Health Estates Advisors and external agencies and organisations to provide professional advice and specialist knowledge to ensure effective service delivery;
- Senior lead specialist and provide direct management of a multidisciplinary maintenance department to ensure all engineering maintenance, including work, is carried out to ensure high performance and compliance with recommended standards and legislation;
- Have overall responsibility for complex engineering plant, equipment and services throughout the NHS Trust and other properties covered by a Service Level Agreement e.g. high and low voltage electrical systems and steam raising plant and equipment;
- Review the existing planned maintenance programmes ensuring these programmes are prioritised and updated for maintenance of engineering infrastructure, plant and equipment, making informed judgements based on a range of factors as requested;
- Provide specialist information relating to the areas of responsibility, to assist the Estates Information Office in the completion of the annual ERIC (Estates Returns Information Collection) or other statutory returns to enable the Trust's Estates Performance to be benchmarked nationally with other Trusts;
- Hold membership of appropriate professional body, e.g., Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), Institute of Engineers and Technicians (IET), Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management (IHEEM), RICS and/or RIBA.
