Full Job Description

Due to the promotion of the current postholder, an exciting opportunity has arisen to lead our high performing finance team.

The successful candidate will be a pivotal member of the finance and procurement team supporting delivery of the Trust's Big Ambitions.

The Deputy Director of Finance leads the finance and procurement teams, providing expert advice and support to our mental health, learning disability and autism services.

They will support the development of the financial strategy for the Trust. They will also deputise for the Executive Director of Finance internally and externally.

They will represent the Trust across the five localities in Greater Manchester and maintain the positive relationships with our commissioners and partners across the Greater Manchester Integrated Care System.

The finance team has ambitions to deliver the highest quality service to our clinical and corporate colleagues.

We have developed our financial sustainability plan. The Deputy Director of Finance will be instrumental in the delivery of this plan over the next three years.

Main duties of the job

Ensure that the shared organisational vision and strategic ambitions, values and culture of the Trust are actively promoted. The post-holder provides clear leadership and is a role model for their delivery.

Responsible for the delivery of effective finance and procurement function

Lead on regular risk assessments on the financial health of the Trust to inform strategic decisions by the Board of Directors

Provide the Trust with expert knowledge of accounting procedures, legislation and the financial impact of NHS policy and external guidance.

Interpret, assess and advise on the implication of changes in complex financial guidance and policy.

Lead on ensuring compliance with all necessary accounting standards.

Ensure the Trust's finance and procurement functions provide efficient and effective support to the Trust and operate with integrity and professionalism.

Develop and maintain the non-finance staff training strategy to continually promote improved financial awareness and competency across the organisation.

Ensure a sound system of internal financial control is in operation which fully meets Trust and audit requirements.
