County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust are seeking to appoint an exceptional Deputy Director of Nursing & Quality who has the energy and passion to make a sustainable and lasting difference in delivering safe, compassionate and joined up care to our population.

We are seeking a Deputy Director of Nursing with the right values, commitment and energy to support delivery of our Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals strategy and to lead the safeguarding, MCA, MHA and Learning Disabilities portfolios, The Deputy Director of Nursing is a critical role that will work alongside the Executive Director of Nursing and Quality to embed clinical leadership across CDDFT.

The Deputy Director of Nursing will develop a culture that focuses on patient safety, learning, improvement and innovation.

This is a key role, working in collaboration and in conjunction with the Trust senior leadership team, and will support the Executive Director of Nursing to deliver clinical leadership to our nurses, midwives, Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and clinical professionals to provide direction and support to ensure a co-ordinated approach to service delivery, service transformation and the development of services that help achieve the long-term vision and priorities of the Trust.

To provide leadership, strategic direction, advice, supervision and support to nurses, midwives, Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and clinical professionals throughout the Trust, ensuring that high quality clinical practice is integrated and embedded into all patient services.

Operationally the Deputy Director of Nursing will lead on a portfolio which includes safeguarding, MCA, MHA & Learning Disabilities.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
