Full Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Deputy Director of Operations will be responsible on a daily basis for: establishing a comprehensive annual plan for the division; oversight of the delivery of the NHS Constitution Standards and performance within the division both in Cancer and 18 Week Pathway; communications and engagement within the division; performance management of Clinical Directorates; leadership of the directorate General Managers and engagement with corporate Business Partners. To deputise for the Director of Operations (DOO) as required.

The Cancer Division are seeking an experienced and skilled leader for the role of Deputy Director of Operations. The successful candidate will through a combination of their experience, skills and knowledge of the performance challenges and standards for acute hospitals enable us to deliver safe, effective and responsive services.
You will bring expertise in working as a senior manager in an acute hospital with cancer services and a track record of delivery and innovation. We are interested, not just in your technical skills, but also your ability to be a visible and compassionate leader
The role will support ensuring that the Division consistently provide high quality patient care whilst delivering all performance targets within the financial envelope. The post holder will also be responsible for working with operational and clinical leaders to ensure services are developed to meet future needs of our patients.
