Deputy Directorate Manager Surgery

In this role you will work closely with the Directorate Manager, Matrons and Clinical Director to provide transformational leadership and change management across our site. You will provide day to day operational support to :

• Emergency General Surgery service based at the John Radcliffe Hospital to deliver a timely and responsive 24/7 Emergency Surgery service which forms part of the Trust Urgent Care Pathway.
• General Surgery Elective services, with responsibility for delivery of the RTT, and Cancer performance indicators.
• Deliver a safe and responsive service for our patients, through continuous service improvement and engagement with all stake holders to ensure best quality care is provided., Service Delivery and Development
• Operational Performance Management
• Business Planning and Financial Management
• Human Resources Management
• Quality, Clinical Governance and Risk Management, The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
  
  To succeed at this role, you will require previous managerial experience in a complex organisation, you must be a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and a pro-active team player with proven leadership and management skills. You will need to be an excellent communicator, have a flexible and adaptable attitude, willing to work collaboratively across sites and services, able to motivate others by providing positive, professional, and accountable leadership and will be a role model for both the Trust and NHS., Educated to degree level in relevant field or equivalent level of management experience.
• Significant acute operational management experience, in a complex organization
• Experience of analysing and interpreting information to identify and manage variances in performance and identifying solutions to deliver improvement.
• Change management/service improvement techniques.

• MBA or post graduate management qualification
