Full Job Description
The Deputy Freedom to Speak Up (FTSU) Guardian will work alongside the FTSU Guardian to support the organisation in becoming a more open and transparent place to work, where all staff are actively encouraged and enabled to speak up safely. The Deputy Freedom to Speak Up Guardian will help: Protect patient safety and the quality of care Improve the experience of workers Promote learning and improvement By ensuring that: Workers are supported in speaking up Barriers to speaking up are addressed A positive culture of speaking up is fostered Issues raised are used as opportunities for learning and improvementMain duties of the job Support all workers to speak up Support all colleagues to raise their concerns. Ensure freedom to speak up messages reach groups that may face barriers to speaking up. Seek feedback from colleagues who have raised concerns once issues have been adequately addressed to ensure processes are improved. Regularly attend staff inclusion networks to ensure that the voices of all our colleagues are heard and any barriers to speaking up are addressed. Promotion of freedom to speak up Promote freedom to speak up across the whole organisation, including delivering information sessions to a diverse range of colleagues and networks as required. Support the People Experience Champions to share messages and promote FTSU. Continue to implement the freedom to speak up policy in the organisation, ensuring it is effective and suggesting improvements where required. Case Management Support the FTSU guardian to effectively manage cases. Be a case holder for concerns raised through the FTSU service, escalating any immediate issues and ensuring appropriate action is taken. Support People Experience Champions Reporting Maintain and develop the freedom to speak up reporting system. Provide reports containing highly sensitive information internally and externally as required, ensuring confidentiality is maintained.
