Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Head of Healthcare to join our busy team at HMP Preston, a Category B male prison in Preston city centre, with operational capacity of around 680. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy remand prison, working closely with the Head of Healthcare and senior team to achieve our vision of being the best! We are proud of the healthcare we deliver, and we are looking for someone to join us to help us improve and develop our service., As our new Deputy Head of Healthcare, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Work closely with the Head of Healthcare and senior team to deliver the best service possible to patients
  • Deputise for the Head of Healthcare when necessary
  • Have responsibility for the operational management of the service
  • Continuously review and assess the service being delivered - want to be the best!
  • Review and improve standards and processes
  • Support the Head of Healthcare in delivering agreed contractual requirements and targets from NHS England and drive their strategic vision for the service
  • Ensure effective day-to-day operational management of all clinical services across the site
  • Form part of the wider HMP Preston Senior Leadership Team
  • Ensure agreed standards are achieved by leading, developing and motivating your team, ensuring they receive appropriate managerial supervision and performance appraisal

    Ideally have a Clinical Registration, such as NMC,HCPC etc
  • Have knowledge of clinical governance
  • Have experience of QOF (Quality and Outcomes Framework)
  • Have experience in a managerial / leadership position
  • Any prison or secure environment would be a bonus!

    This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary of £53,805. Hours This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday between 08:00 - 16:00 / 09:00 - 17:00.
