The Royal Alexandra and Albert School exists to give our children a distinctly different start in life, preparing them for the world with hope, optimism, compassion and empathy. We are a co-educational, non-selective state boarding school, for boys and girls aged 7 - 18,. This is a boarding school with Flexi Boarding students attending from the local area and a lively community of around 400 Full Boarders,passionately involved in a wide range of after-school and weekend activities and trips. Our Ofsted inspection of March 2024 states "pupils are happy and well cared for at Royal Alexandra and Albert School. They benefit from positive relationships with staff across the school. Pupils feel safe, confident that if they report any concerns or worries they will be dealt with" We offer:

  • We seek an outstanding individual for this position available in one of our Boarding Houses. This is ideal experience for future teachers or for those who wish to pursue a career related to working with young people. This is residential post and could be used as a steppingstone to a PGCE course or other work within a school environment. Suitable applicants should have experience of working with young people in some capacity. You will need to support the Head of House in the day to day running of the Boarding House. There will be opportunities for you to involve yourself in our broad and varied co-curricular programme. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced and flexible individual to join our dedicated and friendly team We are looking for someone who:
  • Is understanding, kind and supportive and with an excellent sense of humour
  • Is proactive, energetic and enjoys arranging and leading activities
  • Has good organisational skills and a genuine interest in the welfare of students
