Full Job Description

There has never been a more exciting time to join the Primary Care and Community Division, and as Deputy Head of Primary Care you will play a pivotal role in the strategic management and development of Primary Care Contracting Services, to ensure the delivery of innovative patient focused pathways across the Health Board, which maximise the benefits of the specific contracts to meet national and local priorities.

This key role will ensure the effective and efficient delivery of Primary Care Services through contractual management to maximise the contribution to patient care by Independent Contractors, across Health Board., The post holder is a senior managerial professional within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and will deputise as directed for the Head of Primary Care.

The post holder will be responsible for leading for the strategic management and development of Primary Care Contracting Services across Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

The focus of this role will be to lead the development and implementation of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Strategies and Plans for Primary Care Contracting Services. The post holder will be responsible for leading and delivering a portfolio of work to deliver service transformation, integration, change management and effective financial and performance management through the creation and implementation, of long-term sustainable strategies, whilst, providing an operational framework for the Primary Care Contracting Team.

The post holder will support the Divisional Director, General Manager, Deputy Medical Director, Clinical Directors, Head of Primary Care, NCN Leads and Heads of Service to deliver a wide-ranging programme of improvement, innovation, sustainability and transformation.
