Full Job Description

+ Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a Deputy Head of Procurement to support the delivery of an effective and efficient procurement service for all procurement categories within the trust. The post holder will contribute significantly to the delivery of the procurement function. Applications are welcomed from across the private and public sector. It is important that we recruit the best possible candidate, recognising that innovation and continuous improvement will be key to delivering sustainable NHS services for the future. + You will be responsible for overseeing project management of the tender process within the department, to deliver high quality and timely responses, involving key stakeholders. To understand service delivery requirements, you will support the project stakeholders to draw up effective tender specifications, and conduct market analysis from a range of options to support an informed decision for contract award. + You will undertake work on large & complex tenders often leading for the ICS as a whole. Collaboration across the ICS and often wider is a key skill for the deputy head of procurement role., + You will lead and drive the delivery of procurements within a portfolio of projects / programme that delivers high value, improved patient care and cost efficiency savings across the Trust, using e-tendering tools (Atamis) to support procurements and to become an expert within this field. + You will work to ensure that key stakeholders (e.g clinicians and managers) are engaged throughout, to include demand challenge, appropriate planning and strategy development, evaluation and selection and ongoing contract management and review. + You will be required to research and draft correspondence and papers ensuring the management of specific tasks, lead reporting and analysis across a range of specialties, functions and projects. + You will have responsibility for the overall management of the category team (Corporate & Clinical) and will ensure compliance with procurement legislation and DBTH policies and procedures. + You will support and at times deputise for the Head of Procurement in the delivery of the annual Cost Improvement Plan and strategic aims.

+ Applicants must have expert knowledge of professional purchasing principles acquired through a Level 6 accreditation of Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) or equivalent experience.
