Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a professional and highly motivated Deputy Head of Transactional Services. This individual will be responsible for the overall supervision of our processing teams, providing technical expertise to deliver a comprehensive Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cashier Service. Working to financial regulations, policies and adhering to audit requirements delivering excellent focused customer service.

This is a key role in the finance team, and you will have direct line management responsibility for our Transactional Services Managers, you will be expected to work alongside our Head of Transactional Services, building and maintaining excellent working relationships with a variety of internal and external key stakeholders to provide a robust and reliable service to the Trust. They will need to have excellent communication skills and ability deal with complex issues, presenting information in a variety of formats to various audiences. As part of this role, they will be responsible for gathering an analysing data, to assist in the planning and development of long-term projects for the Transactional Services Team.

The post holder will be required to support and deputise for the Head of Transactional Services, to deliver continuous process improvement and ensuring that this work is translated into changes in day-to-day practices, assisting with the introduction and implementation of new technologies to effectively process high volumes of transactions.,

  • Day to day management and supervision of the Transaction Services Supervisors, including one to ones, team meetings and appraisals

  • Supporting the supervisor team in ensuring that adequate staffing and processes are in place, such that supplier invoices are scanned, processed and paid in a timely basis and ensuring customer invoices are raised and issued to customer

  • Monitoring team performance, ensuring any escalated queries are resolved

  • Reviewing key controls and KPIs, identifying areas for improvement

  • Providing assurance that the Transaction Services Processing team are accurately paying invoices and that sub ledger accounts are maintained

  • Dealing with complex queries from a range of stakeholder both within the finance team and externally, and providing assistance and advice as required

  • Liaising with internal and external parties to discuss financial issues, negotiating and resolving issues


  • Using specialist knowledge and experience review processes and identify software to drive team performance


  • Analyses KPIs and complex financial information and data sets to identify trends., welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
