Full Job Description

If you are an experienced Deputy Headteacher or qualified SENCO or an experienced Assistant Headteacher or Deputy SENCO seeking progression who has worked with pupils with SEMH across either primary or secondary phases this role may be for you. We are currently supporting an established alternative provision based in Thetford with their journey of growth. The role can be offered temporary with immediate effect or as a permanent post from January 2025. This site is very much a blank canvass and a fantastic opportunity for an experienced senior leader to create their own SEND community. The site has the capacity for up to 36 children and has started the the new academic year on 12 heads. Typically, the site caters for pupils aged 7-17 with SEND requirements such as SEMH and ASD. A tour of the site and an informal meeting with the Headteacher can be arranged.
This site is part of a national trust who are focussed on supporting children with complex behaviours and needs. Their pupils have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences, and they work closely with them to develop self-belief to become effective learners. If you are of a similar mindset and ethos, we would be very happy to discuss the role in more detail.
In order to be successfully shortlisted in any of your applications with us we will require the following:
A relevant UK based SENCO qualification
Substantial experience working with pupils with SEND within an education setting.
All required documents for safer recruitment processing including, but not limited to a valid right to work proof and a valid Enhanced DBS.
Exceptional references.
Once shortlisted, a one-to-one interview will be scheduled with your dedicated consultant to discuss your experience and personal requirements. You will be provided with advice and guidance in relation to your requirements that respect your home and work life balance. You will work solely with your consultant throughout your registration journey and beyond, always having direct access to speak with them on a one-to-one basis.

Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 (Daily rate £256 - £300 per day)
