Full Job Description

Leybourne is a small residential service based in Killingworth, for young adults with learning and physical disabilities who require personal care and support. As the Deputy Manager, you'll support the Registered Manager in leading our team to create an environment where the people we support can develop self esteem and confidence focussing on independent living and social interaction. The role offers unrivalled variety, and Leybourne House is a high energy and friendly service with an absolute focus on delivering the highest standard of person-centred care. As the Deputy manager of the service you will have a proactive approach and be an excellent communicator. It is important that you have strong knowledge and experience of leading within a similar service and setting, and have an understanding of the importance of routine and structure for the young people we support.

The successful candidate will be an experienced deputy manager who will contribute to the leadership of the service, and who can guide and manage our dedicated staff team, to ensure a high quality of residential care and excellent outcomes for our residents. You will have a working knowledge of the Care Quality Commission regulations and standards and experience of supporting with service improvements. You will have good experience in quality assurance, compliance and people management, with a strong track record in supporting and inspiring team members to pursue opportunities for continuous professional development. You will be pivotal in fostering a person centred culture with a focus on providing practical and emotional care which enables the people we support to have new experiences and live fulfilled lives. A flexible working approach is essential as the post will include working some evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. You must have:

  • Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification or willingness to work towards
  • Supervisory experience in adult residential care services
  • An understanding and ability to uphold high regulatory standards
