We are embarking on a significant transformation programme to strengthen ourresidential care offer to vulnerable children and young people and are offering excitingcareer opportunities in this area. We are very proud of our employees and theservices that we provide for children in Shropshire and hope to continue to providehigh quality care for more of Shropshire's children and young people.Reporting to the Registered Manager of the children's home you will lead a team ofpractitioners to ensure the home promotes the best outcomes for young people andmeets regulatory requirements.

Right now, we're looking for a new Deputy Manager to join ourfantastic residential care teams in central Shropshire. Ofsted rate our residentialchildren's homes 'outstanding' and 'good', praising our managers and staff for theexceptional support they provide, as well as high levels of staff morale. In fact, we're only recruiting now becausethe previous postholders have been promoted.Our managers have set an exceptionally high standard of leadership to follow - oreven improve upon. So it's essential that you have at least a Level 3 Diploma inResidential Childcare or in Children and Young People's Workforce, or NVQ in Health& Social Care. We're happy to consider other equivalent qualifications. As well asextensive experience of working with children in a residential setting, you'll know howto lead, manage and get the most from a team who are as passionate about improvingchildren's outcomes as you are. You must have the empathy, resilience and strengthof character to support children who have complex needs, and who may displaysocially-unaware behaviour, and may have experienced abuse, neglect and trauma.Finally, you must be over 21 and have a full driving licence., When completing your expression of interest please refer to your skills knowledge andexperience in relation to the Person Specification and Job Description, this should bedone with an understanding of the context of the service described.The minimum age requirement for this role is 21. It is essential that you hold a fulldriving licence.Successful candidates will be required to provide an enhanced Disclosure from theDisclosure & Barring Service.
