Development and Coordination of the Trusts Research Strategy, ensuring that the Trust's approach enables it to be positioned advantageously in relation to NHS priorities, securing sufficient funding to enable the Trust To support research at all levels required to deliver its ambition Research governance and ensuring protection of patients and promotion of research and are consistent with national governance expectations Delivery of the 'bench to bedside' concept, enabling rapid translation of leading edge research into quality patients outcomes.

A Vacancy at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will be accountable for the clinical leadership in relation to research and innovation in the Trust. Up to 6 substantive clinical PAs could also be available to enable the post to be full-time. Appropriate funding approval will be sought and confirmed once specialties of applicants known. The R&D role is renewable on a 3 yearly basis. Please give an indication in your application of whether you wish to work any clinical PAs in the Trust in addition to the 4 sessions for the Deputy Director of R&D role and which specialty. The post holder will lead the Management Team to provide Trust-wide clinical leadership for research; in particular liaising with internal and external stakeholders to raise awareness, participation and multi-professional engagement with high-quality clinical research across the organisation.
