We have a new and exciting opportunity to become an Deputy Head of Year, joining our passionate and committed Pastoral team. As part of this role, you will assist the Head of Year and their Year Group which focuses on the pastoral welfare of all students, communicating with families, collaborating with SLT, driving initiatives for good attendance and overseeing all matters around the behaviour of students.   • The role and what we are looking for We are looking for someone who can support the Head of Year, deliver individual pathways, set high expectations, and will focus on the targeted intervention and tracking of our most vulnerable students, ensuring the make good or better progress. You must be willing to model and support the Oasis ethos. This role is essential in the development of the Academy as it grows in size, year on year, to eventually house 1500 students. This position is a part-time job share position working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday term time only plus inset days. Our Academy We are a secondary school in Oldham, Greater Manchester that opened in 2018 and are dedicated to supporting our young people to reach their potential. We leave no child behind; our progress data is incredibly strong and it is attributed to the hard work of our staff and students. We work together, sharing this educational journey with a common goal - develop happy and successful leaders who are culturally enriched role models in our community. Being part of the Oasis Community Learning multi-academy trust, we benefit from support and sharing of best practice from our regional schools, Regional Director and wider Oasis family. We opened the Academy in temporary accommodation in 2018, with just 230 students across two year groups. In November 2020 we moved into our new, permanent home, which is a state of the art building that sits on the old Breeze Hill School site located on Roxbury Avenue, just off Lees Road in Oldham.
