The Deputy Patient Access Manager (DPAM) reports to the Patient Access Manager and is responsible for the effective leadership, direction, evaluation and administration of the Patient Access functions for their specific HCA UK Hospitals. The DPAM's role is to lead the management and progressive development of high quality and customer responsive services, to maximise revenue capture and contribute to achieving the Hospital's Business Plan. This includes active contribution to Revenue Cycle and to the overall management of the Hospital and its business. Above all else, we're committed to the care and improvement of human life.   • Responsible for the leadership, direction and management of the day-to-day operational aspects of a high volume and pressurised environment.
  • Ensure a 5 service is provided by our patient access team to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage patient pathways to ensure patient access service runs smoothly.
  • Provide effective leadership and demonstrate exemplary remodeling to ensure a seamless patient pathway.
  • Ensure that the Patient Access Team greet all patients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanour, providing an exceptional welcome experience.
  • Management of staff appraisals and professional development plans
  • To act as the point of escalation for Patient Complaints ensuring complaints relating to service are dealt with timely and professionally and any corrective action are undertaken or escalated immediately to the PAM
  • Comply with all HCA policies and procedures, and support the Patient Access Manager to ensure the team are fully compliant.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with all facility staff, revenue cycle teams and third party sponsors.

    Problem solving ability including patient and consultant complaints
  • Excellent customer care skills.
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office - Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
