Full Job Description

Job title: Deputy Safeguarding Officer Grade and salary: Grade 6: Actual Salary - £29,660 - £32,812 per annum (£32,654 - £36,124 FTE) Working pattern: 37 hours per week, 41 working weeks per year (Term time only plus 2 weeks) Contract term: Permanent The school: The Manor Academy has an excellent reputation for its high standards of teaching, student behaviour and academic achievement. Ofsted recognised the journey we have been on when grading us as a "good" school, citing that the quality of education has been transformed since the previous inspection. The role: We are seeking to appoint a Deputy Safeguarding Officer to join our team at The Manor Academy. This role will require you to have previous experience working as a Designated Safeguarding Lead, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead or Safeguarding Officer. The role will include liaising with social services, CAMHS and other external agencies and managing referrals to outside agencies. The role will also include working with the students and families referred by pastoral staff. The person: The right person for this role will show confidence and sensitivity, they must be able to effectively manage behaviour and have good knowledge of statutory safeguarding requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience working with SEND students and ideally be DSL trained within the last 2 years. The candidate will be able to provide support to students and families and will have the ability to communicate effectively to a range of audiences through a range of methods. Why join us?
