Deputy SENCO Education for Industry Group Full-Time Fixed-Term 1-Year Contract Electra House, Moorgate, EC2 About the Role: Ready to make a real difference? As Deputy SENCO at EFI Group, you'll lead the day-to-day management of our Learning Support Team and lead on the operational development of the overall learning support (SEND) provision within the EFI Group. Working alongside the Head of Learning Progression, you'll drive the development of cutting-edge support strategies. You'll also have the opportunity to complete the NASENCO qualification with support from the EFI, ensuring EFI stays at the forefront of best practices. As part of the senior management team, you'll play a key role in safeguarding and shaping the future of inclusive education at EFI. If you're passionate about supporting learners, and helping all students fulfil their potential to the best of their ability regardless of starting points - then this is the role for you. About You:

  • You will have The National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCO) qualification (or willingness to complete)
  • You will have Designated Safeguarding Lead or equivalent training (or willingness to complete).
  • You will have specialist professional training in relevant subject area.
  • You will have substantial team management experience.
  • You will have experience teaching and/or supporting pupils with SEND.
  • You will have experience of making / receiving SEND referrals (including overseeing all aspects of EHCPs from Consultation to Annual Review).
  • You will have a strong commitment to raising educational attainment for students with SEND, including working with pupils directly and supporting other staff to do so.
  • You will have specialist knowledge of SEND national and local policy and developments.
  • You will have an understanding of Safeguarding, Wellbeing and Equality and Diversity issues as they relate to this role and knowledge of common issues facing young people age 16+.
