Full Job Description

The successful candidate will demonstrate they possess the same core values as our organisation, Compassion, Respect, Trust and Integrity in all aspects of their work. You will be expected to provide clinical, managerial and educational leadership to a team of registered and unregistered nursing staff and take an active lead in, or facilitate, the development of ward initiatives to improve the provision of care.

The post holder will be expected to cover and support the co-ordination of the unit in the absence of a clinical duty manager, throughout a 24 hour rotation, where they will cover the whole unit, dealing with both psychiatric and medical emergencies, staffing issues, bed management, patients in the place of safety and any other issues that are raised out of hours.

The post holder, in the absence of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse, will take responsibility for the management of the ward; ensuring the smooth day to day running of the ward and ensuring the wards systems and standards are maintained.

We provide a service to our patients 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, so we are looking for flexible people who are able to work rotational shifts., subject to a 6-month probationary period (see Probation Policy). All jobs will require permission to work in the UK. For all jobs the cost of any DBS disclosure required will be met by the individual. This will be deducted from salary once started.
