Full Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career by taking on the role of Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse on Levington Ward. You will support the Charge Nurse in the delivery of a patient focused, clinically effective and dynamic service. Levington ward is the new exciting regional spinal hub. We focus on the care of elective spinal surgeries and also the care of the Spinal Cord injury patients. This will be for their rehabilitation post trauma or surgery. We are a 12 bedded unit with high speciality needs in both pre and post operative spinal care. We are looking for an individual who will support the charge nurse in leading and developing the wonderful nursing team in this department and promote multi-disciplinary working. You will provide inspirational leadership to the department, be positively welcoming, effective and act as a credible role model. You will have well-developed communication, change management and organisational skills, with a positive attitude and share in our vision and commitment to continuously develop and improve. You should be caring, compassionate, forward thinking, well organized and have a positive attitude towards flexibility and change. Please be advised, the working pattern for this role is Monday to Friday, day shifts only,
- Be responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of individualised programmes of patient care
- Perform specialist interventions in line with agreed Trust policies, procedures and guidelines, as part of holistic patient care
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers and visitors
- Responsible for maintaining accurate patient records
- Liaise with the multi-professional team regarding the planning and delivery of care, and cohesive discharge planning
- Inform the Ward Sister of any potential complaints, or if any patient / carer is dissatisfied with any aspect of their care, so that immediate and appropriate action can be take
